St. Therese Competes at the 2018 National History Bee National Championships in Atlanta!
The St. Therese History Team did very well at the National Finals in Atlanta. On the first day of competition, St. Therese entered two separate teams in the History Bowl Competition, a buzzer-style competition in which schools compete head-to-head in four quarters of competition. The St.Therese 7th and 8th Grade Team won their first match of the day on the very last question. Both teams fared well despite competing against very strong teams from across the nation. Neither team advanced to the playoff round, but nonetheless represented our school in proud fashion. In the Individual Bee Competition, St. Therese entered a record number of 10 competitors total in the Elementary, 7th Grade, and 8th Grade Divisions. The first day proved to be an intense day of competition with each contestant competing in buzzer-style rounds while also completing a written test. All of the St. Therese entrants did very well with 2 students advancing to the playoff round, John Plebanski in the 8th Grade Division and Tristan Li in the Elementary Division. This is the furthest any St. Therese students have ever advanced at the National Finals Level and has set a new standard for future competitors from St. Therese!
