The School and Family Association (SFA) is an integral part of the St. Therese family and we invite you to get involved. With your help, the SFA will be able to continue to raise funds for a wide range of educational enrichment programs for the students. Over the years, the SFA has provided learning opportunities and social activities that may have otherwise been unavailable to our students.
All of this takes the hard work and dedication of our community members. Each one of us has different skills, talents, and resources that are desperately needed to make St. Therese what it is. For some, it is volunteering in our classrooms. For others, it is heading up or joining a committee that brings something special to our students. For the SFA to be effective and truly representative of the school, everyone’s participation is essential. Many parents feel that they cannot participate in the SFA because they cannot come to every meeting or be on campus during the day - but in reality, there are many ways to be involved during and outside of the school day! We want everyone to feel that they are part of the St. Therese Community. Whether you have 30 minutes or a few hours, your ideas, your time, your talents and simply your VOICE are truly needed.
We have 3 main goals for this year:
- Increasing SFA membership – We need help from all of our parents to continue putting on family programs and raising funds to support school initiatives. By becoming a member of the SFA and attending meetings, parents can also stay informed of the events and decisions taking place at our school.
- Fostering parent and teacher involvement – At St. Therese, we are more than just a school, we are a community. Each parent and teacher is a valuable contributor to our children’s education. Through SFA, we can collaborate on the issues that affect our children inside and outside of the classroom.
- Communicating more effectively – The SFA will work with school administration to keep parents up-to-date on upcoming events and important school information. In addition, we encourage teachers and parents to provide input throughout the year to address any needs or concerns.
We all want the very best education and experience for our children, and that is why we must all individually do whatever we can to make it happen. We encourage our community to come together and support our great school in any way possible. By volunteering at our school, you will get to enjoy interacting with the kids, become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that truly make a difference. What better way to show our kids how important their school is than by showing up! We promise that the time you give to the SFA and the school will be worth your while—and fun! It really does make a difference in the lives of all our students! You will not regret it!
All parents and guardians interested in volunteering at the school should review the Volunteer Information.
