Dance
Our dance instructor, Ms. Sun Geli, graduated from a professional dance school, majoring in choreography, and is proficient in Chinese dance, ballet, and K-pop.Our school's annual dance curriculum is rich and varied, and from PK-8th grade, the curriculum includes children's dance, Chinese dance, and K-POP. The school holds Chinese New Year performances and talent shows every year so that the students will have the opportunity to perform on stage. Learning dance will help exercise the body, improve physical fitness and personal cultivation, and allows students to develop self-confidence and courage. Martial Arts
Taiko & Drumline
Rhythm is a universal language. In taiko and drumline, Mr. Tooles uses fun phrases from super hero names to food, standard notation, and counting to teach a universal rhythmic alphabet. From there students have a ton of fun exploring drumming traditions and rhythms from China, Japan, Europe, West Africa, and the Americas. At St. Therese, we are very fortunate to have both traditional Chinese drums, gongs, and cymbals as well as European marching percussion to practice with and perform on stage or during parades. |
