Software/Websites Used by Students and their Privacy Policies
St. Therese School utilizes several computer software applications and web-based services. These software applications are accessed via devices issued by St. Therese and devices in the school (Chromebooks, i-Pads, computers, etc). These software applications are essential in the delivery of our curriculum and instruction. Some of these apps are used by one or two teachers; others are used more widely. Our teachers’ thoughtful and developmentally appropriate use of these programs provides us with yet another way to engage students and individualize learning.
So that St. Therese School students can use these and other web-based software programs and services, certain identifying information (e.g., student name, email address, grade) must be provided to the website or software owner or operator so that student accounts or folders can be accessed by the student. Under federal law these websites must provide parental notification and obtain parent consent. US law permits schools to provide consent to the collection of personal information on behalf of its students, thereby eliminating the need for parents to provide direct consent to each digital service that the school utilizes. The consent form that parents submit to St. Therese School applies to all websites the school uses to deliver instruction to students. The consent applies to all of the software applications noted below as well as other software applications that are deployed in the school after parents have submitted a consent form. St. Therese will make a good faith effort to keep the listing below current throughout the school year.
