School and Parish Volunteer Compliance Requirements

Effective immediately, the Office for the Protection of Children has established protocols to meet compliance for volunteers.  If you are a school parent who may be considering attending your child’s class party, your child’s field trip, or other school/parish-sponsored activities that include children, ALL of the following steps MUST be completed by you.  There are NO exceptions. Please note, Virtus is only one part of the mandatory protocol to meet compliance. ALL steps need to be completed.  The Code of Conduct and CANTS forms are to be completed each year.  A live training of Virtus needs to be attended once and monthly “Training Bulletins” and “Training Modules” will be emailed to you and must be completed.

• Virtus–Protecting God’s Children for Adults:  Certificate of attendance must be printed out and submitted to the school office. You MUST register online prior to attending a Virtus training and you only have to attend once.
• Archdiocesan Code of Conduct:  Read and sign the Standards of Behavior Acknowledgement Form and submit to the school office. A new form must be submitted annually.
• CANTS (Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System) Form: Read, fill out, and sign and submit the CANTS form to the school office. A new form must be submitted annually.
